Packing for a family of four, with little kids, for a
four-month adventure that would take us through two countries before we even
arrived at our target destination was, at the risk of sounding self-inflated, a
colossal undertaking.
Weeks of laundry were necessary. And day after day, I sorted through closets
and bins of stored clothes for summer, fall and winter. How big would Annabeth and Shawn be by
December? How cold would it get? What do they wear in France?
And why oh why wouldn’t my kids stop growing for one stupid
day so I could just organize
everything??
As you can see from the pictures, the many mounds of Maybes,
Definitelys, Give-Aways and Ship-Aheads eventually packed themselves neatly
into four bags and four carry-ons for the plane and five x-large dufflebags for
Air Cargo headed directly to France.
In alphabetical order, I’d like to thank Amy, Angie, Bob, Danielle
and DinoandKaren for all their many priceless donations, as well as my mom and
Mike for shipping the air-cargo bags for us.
Thanks also to Trevor for finally understanding the task at hand and
setting about to zip the last bag. Fait
accompli.
Now
where did I pack my toothbrush??
Sorry, I haven't yet figured out how to turn these after I've already uploaded them. |
Too many books! But how to choose?? Believe it or not, the kids read so much that we are already buying them new ones because they have gotten bored with the fifteen or so that we decided to bring. |
And a whole new bag of great clothes from Danielle to go through. Merci! |
